Fall fishing is great for inshore and offshore in the Pensacola area! Inshore the mangrove snapper are holding tight to any structure including docks and bridges, and the bull Redfish will be chasing pogies all out our bay and sound. Offshore your chances at a mahi mahi are at a all time high with plenty of sharks and vermilion snapper to catch bottom fishing, along with a number of other species to capture!
With spring getting closer we are gearing up for the sheepshead spawn, our local fish move out of the bayou’s and intercostal water to the mouth of the pass and stack up like pancakes! We use light spinning tackle and a mixture of live bait including sand fleas, shrimp, and fiddler crabs. If dropping live bait isn’t your style no worries! Schools of Spanish mackerel frequently chase bait fish around the boat and we cast a plugs and jigs and catch them on artificial.
With March starting in and trigger fish season opening we are very excited because the bite is hot. The vermilion snapper are chewing the hooks off and we’re landing some monster mangroves in the mix, the fishing season has officially started in Pensacola Florida
Bite has been heating up, with king mackerel and Spanish mackerel on bait balls in the gulf and vermillion and mangrove snapper on the reefs offshore. Fishing is getting right just in time for red snapper season starting June 17th going through the end of July. Looking forward to this fishing season and making memories!
